The Paralegal supports attorneys in all stages of litigation, with a focus on federal court matters involving representation of Native American tribes and tribal organizations. The position requires expert-level knowledge of litigation processes, federal e-filing systems, case management software, and legal research tools. The Paralegal must demonstrate initiative, organization, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving in a deadline-driven environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Litigation & Document Support
* Draft, revise, and finalize pleadings, discovery, motions, and correspondence with minimal attorney revision
* Prepare and file documents via PACER and ECF, ensuring compliance with court rules and formatting
* Manage discovery processes including document review, Bates labeling, and evidence tracking
* Assist in trial preparation, including assembling exhibits, witness files, and hearing binders
Case & Calendar Management
* Maintain attorney calendars and case timelines using Clio
* Track and manage court deadlines, filing requirements, and hearing schedules
* Organize and maintain physical and digital case files
Research & Software Proficiency
* Conduct legal research using Westlaw and draft supporting materials
* Use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) for document preparation and collaboration
* Ensure ongoing accuracy of records and tasks in Clio and firm file systems
Communication & Client Support
* Communicate with clients, courts, experts, and co-counsel regarding scheduling, discovery, and logistics
* Respond to client and internal requests promptly and professionally
* Coordinate logistics for depositions, expert interviews, and court appearances
Administrative & Billing Tasks
* Record accurate time entries and submit billing narratives consistent with firm policy
* Assist with expense tracking, internal reporting, and task status updates
* Support attorneys with administrative tasks related to client service delivery

Required Skills & Qualifications:
* 3+ years of experience in a law firm setting with demonstrated federal court litigation experience
* Proficient in Clio, Westlaw, PACER, ECF filing, and Microsoft Office Suite
* Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills
* Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously and meet strict deadlines
* Experience with tribal law preferred but not required
